Production Phase

The production phase initially involved sourcing a person able to sew the garment. Team member Cherie Harrop had sewn in the past ( not for more than 10 years) and owned a sewing machine so it was decided that she would manufacture the garment.

Throughout the process of actually sewing the garment a few design modifications took place mainly in relation to the pockets. Instead of the intended two pockets one large pocket was made that had a centre division sewn in to create two pockets.

The wet wipes pocket was sewn on the front of the large pocket and had to be reinforced at the top with elastic to allow some room in it for a bulky packet of wet wipes to sit.

The sewing stitch had to be double layered to provide strength to a garment which would undergo frequent washes.
